Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
AdsEngine ("the Service") is operated by New Effect ("we", "us"), a company
based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what information we collect
when you use AdsEngine — the web application at
app.ads-engine.net and the AdsEngine add-on for Google
Sheets — why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and the basic profile details Google shares. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see or store your password.
- Advertising data. When you connect an ad account (Meta Ads or Google Ads) we store, with your explicit authorisation, the account's name and identifier and its daily performance metrics — spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and conversion value. Access is read-only: AdsEngine cannot create, change or publish ads, and cannot spend your budget.
- Spreadsheet content you send us. If you use the Google Sheets add-on's functions, the specific text or values you pass to them are sent to our servers to produce the result you asked for. The add-on only accesses the spreadsheet it is used in; it never scans your other files.
- Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your subscription status and invoice history; your card details are held by Stripe, not by us.
- Technical information. Standard server logs (IP address, request time, endpoint) kept for security and debugging.
2. How we use information
We use the information above solely to provide the Service: syncing your ad metrics, generating summaries, anomaly reports and dashboards, writing the reports you request into your spreadsheet, operating billing, and providing support. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except the processors named in this policy.
3. Google user data — Limited Use disclosure
AdsEngine's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular: Google user data (such as spreadsheet content processed by the add-on) is used only to provide the user-facing features you request, is never sold, is never used for advertising, and is never read by humans except with your consent, for security purposes, or where required by law.
4. Meta (Facebook) data
When you connect a Meta ad account we receive, under the
ads_read permission, the list of ad accounts your Facebook user
can access and their performance metrics. We use this data only to display
and analyse your own advertising performance. You can disconnect at any time
from the AdsEngine dashboard (which deletes the stored access token) or by
removing AdsEngine from your Facebook settings — Meta then notifies us and
we delete the associated data. You can also request deletion at any time via
the contact below.
5. Where your data lives and how it is protected
AdsEngine is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in the European Union. All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Access tokens for connected ad platforms are stored server-side and are never exposed to your browser or spreadsheet. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Disconnecting an ad account deletes its access token; deleting your account, or emailing us a deletion request, removes your personal data and synced metrics within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
7. Processors we rely on
- Google Firebase (authentication)
- Stripe (payments)
- Hetzner Online GmbH (hosting, EU)
- Meta Platforms and Google (the ad platforms you choose to connect)
8. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
9. Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the application.
